At some point in our lives, we need to learn how to let go of some things. Whether it is letting go of your high school popularity right after graduation or seeing yourself without the one you love, we all have to let these things go in one way or another. Not to say that we should just completely forget about these memories, but life seems to move on whether we like it or not. We still need to cherish every single moment in our lives, passing in seconds and minutes. But even if we want these moments to stay forever, they inevitably move on without us. They only leave remnants in our minds so that we can relive them in our imaginations. Overdoing this, however, like any kind of obsession is destructive to all of us because it leaves us behind our real time. This may be the only way that we can have that feeling of that winning touchdown or the time we had that amazing cuddle with our ex, but we just have to let some of those things go.

Archive work matters because old thoughts only stay useful if they remain legible, searchable, and connected to the conversations around them.
Thank you for posting this, you are so right! Now, how to learn to recognize the signs of obsession? When I notice it’s too late. Gia x
