I think learning how to appreciate something is one of the most powerful things that some people have forgotten in today’s society. Whether it’s as small as getting your coffee for free or enjoying something as magnificent as a sunrise at the beach, humans need this ability to be able to keep things in mind and not take them for granted. For one, it teaches us how to be humble and care for others, and for another, it takes away from all of the troubles and stresses that our world brings to us everyday. I think being appreciative keeps our bad human aspects from controlling our lives like greed and jealousy, and I think many of us have forgotten the trait of appreciation. Sometimes, I think about the things that are available only to myself, and I usually get the feeling that I want to share this thing with everyone. Knowing that something is for you to make your own thoughts out of is important. Vague enough? Keeping a mindset that we overlook so many aspects in our daily lives that help it keep going and we need to appreciate even the smallest of things will make us a more peaceful society, and I am definitely looking forward to day when this is apparent.
