It’s that time of the year again! The sun is shining, the tank is clean, and I HAVE GROWN ANOTHER YEAR! So I’ll be frank, and go ahead and say thank you so much for your love and support! I cannot thank you guys enough. As a squeakquel to my original post, I have decided to tack on an addendum as a life update. If I don’t respond to your post, rest assured, I am working very hard at my new job today (not watching YouTube videos) and will hopefully respond sooner than later.

For starters, on May 5, 2018, I graduated ETSU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering Technology with a minor in Mathematics. This has honestly been the most challenging but also enjoyable times of my life meeting some of the most wonderful people to ever cross my life. I can say right now that it has truly been a pleasure meeting every single one of you. Whether positive or negative, big or small, I cherish all of our interactions together as I have learned and developed as a better person through all of it. During my college career, I have faced struggles and obstacles that I knew I would have to overcome deep inside, but all in all, these hurdles are the very defining moments of my life that made me realize the importance of the complex relationship of aspiration, dedication, and perspiration.

Possibly one of the most exciting and emotional periods of my life, my BIG move to the BIG city has been a BIG bittersweet moment waiting to happen. I’m not gonna lie. I cried for days in the process of moving from the days leading up to it to being by myself in my new apartment. For those of you that don’t know, I got a job at a surveying firm in Franklin, TN, and so far, I am loving it down here! The food is great. The scene is great. But most of all, I think moving to a new city and being apart from the people I love the most brought me back to a level of appreciation I once forgot. The little moments when you are laughing with your friends over “having a basketball game tomoro.” The times when you see the smile on your parents’ faces when you come back home to do laundry. These “life” moments are the ones that are very close and dear to my heart, and I plan to make some more memorable ones in the future.

As for what lies ahead of me, I am making it a personal goal of mine to share my thoughts and ideas with the world to fully understand it and hopefully bring about the caring and loving society I know hides beneath the rift it sees today. With another year on this earth, I look forward to seeking the wisdom that I wish to impart with many more people. If 22 doesn’t already feel old, then I don’t know how I’ll be when I’m 40.

Feel free to stop by when you’re in town, and say hello! I’d love to grab a coffee and catch up. Follow me on Insta @jp.mitra for some more frequent picture updates and friendship. Have a good day!

Archive work matters because old thoughts only stay useful if they remain legible, searchable, and connected to the conversations around them.
